Eligibility Criteria
• Being a foreign fishing vessel
• Fish being caught outside the territory waters of Sri Lanka
• Using a specific type of equipment to catch fish (marawel)
• Submitting documents to prove identification & registration of the vessel
• Registered at the board of investment
• Appropriate Documentation
• Applying through a local agent
• If an association documents of registration

Co-operation letters of the relevant establishment

Submission Procedure
Step 1:Submitting a project report and a letter of request to the director general
Step 2:Once assessing the information if the director general approves the project he will issue a an application
Step 3:Submitting the completed application form along with the relevant documents to director general (a letter by the relevant
authority to confirm that there is available space for the vessel to anchor at fishing ports should be submitted)
Application form
application must be made on the form of “the orders of unloading of fish 1997 part 1”
Procedure
Step 1:Project report and request letter submitted to the director general
Step 2:Director general will either approve or decline the request after analyzing the information
Step 3:Filled application form and relevant documents will be submitted to the director general
Step 4:The application is sent to the management department for conclusions and recommendations
Step 5:The relevant application is forwarded to the director general for approval
Step 6:The director general will either approve or decline the application
Step 7:Issuance of license or informing that the application has being declined
